You're Hot Then You're Cold.

Well it's been another great week. It seems I don't have as much to write bout anymore because I don't really have to explain who people are or update you on their status because we are mostly just teaching these people whenever we can. So I don't have as much detail anymore! Sorry! The weather has been nice. It was overcast and "windy" for a few days and then the weather was perfect. However, since it's "winter" it gets cold at night
when we are on our bikes. So we are hot in the day, and freezing at night. But it's not bad at all obviously. Can't complain!

Last pday we played volleyball as a district and that was really fun. Our district wasn't very coordinated though :) But it sure made me miss volleyball! It was fun to get out and do something, but it definitely drained my energy for the rest of the day.

So J… has been ignoring us....it's so sad. We finally caught him and he says he really would like to be baptized, but he isn't willing to live the law of chastity or the word of wisdom. :( He said he could lie but he knows that isn't right. He doesn't want to make that commitment to God if he knows he can't keep it. WRONG ATTITUDE obviously. It broke our hearts. We
still meet with him when we can, but he also has a job on Sunday now so he hasn't been to church in two weeks. He also told us that a while ago he sold his soul to the devil. That also presents a problem. So we are really sad and heartbroken about that. He was so solid and it was amazing to see the change in him. He still is a way better person now, but he has so much
potential that he is just throwing away! But we will see him again this week and hopefully we can talk some sense into him/the spirit will help him understand and WANT to change. So he is slipping away and we might have to drop him if he isn't willing to try.

So I started reading the Book of Mormon with a missionary focus not too long ago and have been marking it up really good and taking lots of notes. A few weeks later, my mission president decided he wanted us to focus on the Book of Mormon and read the whole thing by April 6th. Of course I am going to do that and I want to extend that challenge to all of you too! Have a question in mind as you read, one question for the whole Book of Mormon.
Buy a new soft back and then mark it up according to that one question or aspect you want to focus on! It's so cool all the answers that you get :) So I challenge you all to do that with me :) Let me know how it's going!

This week we got to work with one of the relief society presidents really closely. It was really awesome. She has a bunch of relief society manuals she is trying to take to all the less actives. So we went with her to drop them off and meet them. We did this for two hours. It was really effective, except for the fact that she drove so horribly! I was jerked around for two
hours! Needless to say, I get VERY car sick once we left I tried to hold everything down best I could until we made it home. I had to stay in the rest of the night because it was so bad. Luckily it was only an hour or so. She wants to finish again another night...I DON'T KNOW IF MY BODY CAN HANDLE IT! haha. It was THAT bad.

We went to the temple again this week. I love going to the
temple. It really helps!

So there is a little black boy, age 10, that we see in the apartments all the time. We have talked to him a few times, but the other night, he was in his karate outfit and trying to show off to another little girl. The funny part is that this kid is HUGE. His robe came undone and his huge belly was hanging out and he was trying to look really cool. We talked to him and he
showed us some nice karate moves. He really enjoyed it and we got it all on film. So funny. He said, "Ya you can come back tomorrow and maybe I can show you some moves with a stick or something." So FUNNY. So Sister W and I sang Mulan (I'll Make a Man Out of You) the whole way home as we thought of his awesome karate moves ;) It was enjoyable.

So we have been making BBQ chicken salad for lunch. Well the other sisters threw away my bbq sauce for some reason (BRAND NEW) so we borrowed some from the Elders. Well their bbq sauce is NOT normal. It's spicy bbq sauce! Ridiculous. So we still used it and mixed it with ranch and stuff but it was still SO hot. I was sweating from eating it! I was fanning myself as I was eating cause I was so hungry and we didn't really have anything else to
eat! Sister W recorded me because she thinks it’s so hilarious that I don't like hot things. The bottle said, "dare you try" so you KNOW it was hot! ;) She didn't think it was that bad, but I think she was just saying that so I would look more ridiculous ;) haha not really, I just really don't like spicy things! She was crackin up for days.

This week I went on exchanges with the STL's. This was my first time leaving my area and going to theirs. They are in a Spanish ward so I had no idea what was going on all day. I got to go with Sister A. She is HILARIOUS. I love her so much. She is adorable and so dedicated and I learned a lot from her, even though I didn't know much of what was going on :) She is from Mexico though and she learns a lot of new English words and
uses them a lot. (such as preposterous; it's quite funny when she says it).Anyway so she also had to get her driver’s license with she was on her mission! Needless to say, her driving was a little scary sometimes! They get a car since their area is so big, so I just had to tell her when to go and stuff like that. But ya, she was adorable and I love her. We spent most of our time in trailer parks and trying to get new investigators for them.
It was interesting to be in another area and to have NO idea what people were saying. I feel bad for those people who go other countries and have no idea what anyone is saying and they just have to learn it. SO HARD. But I do want to learn a language I decided. Someday.

Anyway we have one of the best bishops ever. He is so hilarious. We were meeting with him to go over the progress records. He is so good about missionary work, he is the one who made cookies with us and goes out with us. So he is taking someone to the temple on Tuesday and invited us since we haven't gone through yet. (It's the last week it is open). Anyway, he was saying he might have to bring his daughter since we can't be alone in the car with him and his wife looks over and says, "What am I!? Chopped liver!?" Bishop looks her up and down and says, "No Baby, YOU a PRIME steak :)" SO hilarious. Maybe you had to be there, but he is just quite the crack up and so dedicated. One of the greatest bishops ever! haha

Lastly, we spoke at church this Sunday. We spoke in our other ward on missionary work. It went pretty good and one of our investigator’s came because we were speaking! He said he was so impressed by us and was especially impressed with how "good" I did because he wasn't expecting that from me, but from Sister W. She is always crazy and outgoing, so I guess it makes sense :) But we were so happy to see him there! His son also came and we are hoping to get him to go to primary one of these times so that R… can stay too. But the ward is really helping us with them and some people in the primary are going to go visit them this week! YAY! SO that will be awesome.
We also got J… to come to church! He is not a member but his family is. He has been investigating the church for 15 years! We taught him after church and he said he wants to be sealed to his family. Then, bishop asked him if he would be baptized at the end of March so he would be ready to baptize his daughter in December when she turns 8. HE SAID YES!!!! WOOOOOO! So exciting! I love this guy and his family. They are a cute Hispanic
family and they always feed us when we go over. But we had such a good lesson and we always have fun there too because they are so funny. So that is really exciting! We can't wait.

Anyway it's been a great week! Time is just flying by. It's ridiculous!I've been out for four months already. Weird. Anyway I hope you all have agood week! Love you!
